Whenever I scout a location before a shoot, I’m always looking for an area where there is nice (flattering) light, and a calm background, but I ultimately improvise because we all know how things always go as planned. As I was walking with Rachna and Shafi on The Highline, which was crowded with pedestrians making the best of the beautiful fall weather, I stumbled by a strip of light beaming from the rails which just looked so soft and golden.

I knew it would compliment them and contrast the cool evening blue lurking in the air perfectly, so all it took was an awesome couple who was ok with getting a little dirty and then we made this happen.

So Jessica, like most of my brides to be, confessed to me: “I hate getting my picture taken”

It’s so strange, because from the photo below you would think she was very comfortable in front of the camera. Not to mention, she is really photogenic and her smile is super contagious! It’s never an easy task to be photographed, that’s why I stay behind it icon smile Jessica + James: A Candid photo worth sharing . So it took a little warming up, but with James being the awesome playful guy he is, it wasn’t too hard to get these two to settle in and work the camera. You’ll see more of these two soon!
