Before you continue reading, catch the Hindu Ceremony here. You might also remember these two from their awesome engagement session at the South Street Seaport.
It was that type of day, nice blue skies with the slight threat of clouds rolling in. Supposedly, rain on the wedding day is good luck. As much as we’d like the idea of good luck, rain doesn’t always make for an ideal situation for a wedding day. Payel could only think about how the potential rain would ruin plans for guests to enjoy an outdoor cocktail hour at the beautiful Studio Square in Long Island City.
Now, I’ve always forewarned my couples to leave a little wiggle room whenever transportation is involved; in this case, traveling from The Manhattan View at the Holiday Inn to St. Sebastian Church to Studio Square. But it is a wedding day, and no matter how well Payel and Regi planned, you couldn’t have expected all that happened.
When the first limo broke down and a second was on its way, we were prepared for a 10-15 minute delay, but when the second one needed a boost, we couldn’t do anything but hope things got back on schedule.
Clouds were rolling in and the limos were late, but Payel and Regi kept their cool. I guess graduating in the top 20 percentile for an MBA from Ivy Leagues does that to you. Even after the mini-disaster, the sun peeked and everything fell into place. The cocktail hour continued as planned and the clouds made way for the evening, leaving a beautiful sunset that made everyone stop and admire the view.
The celebration had started. Needless to say, these two sobbed, laughed, and danced the night away with their loved ones, and I was fortunate enough to share the experience with them. Thank you so much! Enjoy the images!
